creation of new phones
Added by george lagardo over 11 years ago
Hello,
After quite a few recent attacks from hackers , i have understood that these people are just blindly guessing the ways to get into my system, in my earlier posts i mentioned about this and was advised to change passwords, etc. which i did, however i still find the warning massages that somebody is trying to login using 8015 id , i guess this is phone login id, i tried creating the phones , but am not successful, please tell me the things i should remember to create new phones, can i create my own id like 7010, or 6001 or just like 101...etc..
please help
regards
George

If your server is on the internet (has a public IP address) and also has a private IP (LAN), you can close UDP port 5060 on the public IP address. This will block all SIP connections from the internet.
Another way is to lock down access to port 5060 to trusted IP addresses.
Check "/etc/sysconfig/iptables" for your default firewall/IPtables rules.
If you need to add new phones then do it via the Add New Phones Wizard.

Hi
use strong sip registration password for your phones.u can create any kind series phone ,100 or 1000 2000 .....
Use fail2ban kind of software to block hackers from sip attacks, ssh attacks.
or
use iptables rules and allow only trusted ip's to access.
