throttling inbound campaign concurrent calls to outbound carrier capacity
Added by faisal tahir over 10 years ago
HI All,
I would like to ask for the communities advice on capacity.
I have outbound dialing campaigns. Each is set to send up to 30 channels at a time.
That is set in the "Number of Lines" setting in the campaign itself.
I have 60 channels with my outbound carrier
My issues comes when i send more then 2 campaigns at a time. as i fill up the 60 channels and then the system tries to send more calls, and they fail.
So if i try to send 10 campaigns at a time, it will send 300 calls all at once, failing 240 at a time.
I want to be able to set 10 campaigns to go out around one time, but for the dialer to throttle calls. I dont mind if it throttles calls by sending the campaigns once it has time, or to send 6 calls from each campaign. However. Just that it throttles in some intelligent way so that calls dont fail, but wait their turn.
So i think the setting is in the page "Modify Server -> Max Trunks'. It is set to 9999! The issue i have is when i set it to 60. This was during a campaign. The dialer reduced calls to 0. Even though we believed the campaign should of continued to run. i then set it back to 9999, and the calls started again. Since our campaigns are time sensitive i cannot manipulate the settings and cause an issue like that.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Two possible causes:
1. Your server cant handle number of calls you desired.
2. Ask your VOIP provider how channels set on your account.
Thanks
