Hardware
Added by Greg Hitchcock over 10 years ago
Hi All,
I am trying to setup a test box for a possible GoAutoDial deployment. We are currently using an outdated (EOL) NEC IPK system that is no longer supported and I would like to test and see if this solution will work for us.
Currently, I have goautodial installed on a Dell Optiplex 755 running a Pentium dual core processor. Obviously, I will need to purchase a PRI card and a couple of phones to test with but my question is:
Will the Digium PRI card (PCI express card) mount up in the above mentioned PC (Dell), and then be connected to a VOIP compatible switch or will I need additional hardware to make this system work? Like switchvox etc...
I guess I am a bit lost as to how all of the pieces will fit together.
Please advise...
Thanks,
Greg

Hi greg
what kind of trunk you are going to use to dial out via Goautodial?
if you are using PRI/ISDN or analog trunks(FXO) you need a digium cards
if you are using Just VOIP/SIP trunk to dialout then no need of digium cards,
just you need a good bandwidth for the goautodial server..
goautodial same like switchvox using Asterisk as a telephony server ,in which you can configure the voip trunks.
you can use Free softphones like xlite/zoiper or any ipphones (digium, grandstream, yealink)
Dell Optiplex 755 seems it has low profile pci slot, so you need order digium with low profile bracket...
