munin root mails

Added by duks mird over 12 years ago

Hi,

I am casual user of vicidial or goautodial and I run test goautodial server:
GoAutoDial CE 2.1 on ESXi virtual machine (Processors 1, Model Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz, CPU Speed 2.39 GHz, Cache Size, 12.00 MB...)
Avarege load is 0.18 or less becouase I am only user on system.

Every 5 minutes I get messages in root's mail:
U 1 Thu Jan 19 18:05 25/986 "Cron <munin@go> test -x /usr/bin/munin-cron && /usr/bin/munin-cron"
U 2 Thu Jan 19 18:10 25/986 "Cron <munin@go> test -x /usr/bin/munin-cron && /usr/bin/munin-cron"
U 3 Thu Jan 19 18:25 25/986 "Cron <munin@go> test -x /usr/bin/munin-cron && /usr/bin/munin-cron"
U 4 Thu Jan 19 18:30 25/986 "Cron <munin@go> test -x /usr/bin/munin-cron && /usr/bin/munin-cron"

with same content:

X-Cron-Env: <LOGNAME=munin>
X-Cron-Env: <USER=munin>

Lock already exists: /var/run/munin/munin-update.lock. Dying.

Should I be worry because of this messages?
Yes, I can turn of munin from crontab,
[root@go ~]# crontab -l -u munin
  1. munin
  • * * * * /usr/bin/munin-cron

but will I solve problem with munin root mail and generate new problems? :)
Please, give me advice :)

You can safely disregard those mail messages. Please don't disable munin. It's needed for the network performance reports and other stats.
