Network (NIC) not running

Added by Houssem Bagga almost 11 years ago

Hello,

here is my problem when I installed 3.0 goautodial the network does not work, so I have to set the address.

when I install 2.1 goautodial it works normally, even if I did the update from 2.1 to 3.0 (with 3.0 goautodial 32bit or 64bit same problem)

Can someone help me

Thank you in advance**

Hi,

Please provide the NIC model and make.

Have you tried clicking the start button? Is there is an error message when clicking the start button? You can also try to use other NIC card.

Thanks!

Hi,

the model of my network card is "Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5722 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express". I tried with another network card but the same model but does not work

I clicked on the button to boot but the same problem and not even give an error message.

Google is your friend. Search if that driver has issues with CentOS 5.9. If yes, then there might be updated drivers avalilable. You can try running "yum update" to update your system and see if that fixes your driver problem.

I have Installed GoAutoDial "goautodial-32bit-ce-3.0-RC1a.iso" on IBM Xeon Server (even tried other Two More PC) and after Installed Every Time showing Network(NIC) not running.
Each Machine has
1. 2 NIC (Driver auto installed by goautodial)
2. I can Ping internal network & external network after setting local & live IP.
3. 'yum updated' done
4. nano /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 & eth1
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
HWADDR=5c:f3:fc:2c:f2:5c
ONBOOT=yes
NETMASK=255.255.255.248
IPADDR=x.x.x.x
GATEWAY=x.x.x.x
TYPE=Ethernet

DEVICE=eth1
HWADDR=5c:f3:fc:2c:f2:5d
ONBOOT=yes
HOTPLUG=
BOOTPROTO=static
TYPE=Ethernet
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
IPADDR=192.168.1.3

5. Updated server ip by /usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_update_server_ip.pl
6. Server Restarted but nothing happened.

Please Help needed.
by the way on thos PC GoAutodial 2.1 was working fine & Running

If you're network is perfectly running then you can safely ignore the "Not running" message on the widget. It might not be parsing correctly the network settings on your server.
