Changing Admin Password resets user-level to 1

Added by Andy Colos over 9 years ago

Hi

using stock install of the latest 3.3 iso - as per title

If i create a new admin, and then reset the password it will also reset user level to 1.

I have tried on multiple machines, and also tried yum update.

I believe it is something to do with the latest version.

Any ideas?

p.s. this is without adding or doing anything other than, install - then resetting admin password.
The problem is repeatable everytime.

Did you set the "User Group" settings to "VICIDIAL ADMIN" when you created your new admin user? Can you post your admin logs here?

We can add new admin users without any issues at all. This via WAN and LAN on a newly installed GOautodial CE 3.3 server (32bit and 64bit).

Are you accessing the server over the internet? Can you post your GOadmin version?

We have changed the admin password numerous times and the user level still stays at level 9. We have created a new admin user and changed it's password numerous times too. Still at level 9.

Can you tell us the exact process you are doing so we can try to re-create it on our end. Please also post the admin logs here. Better yet if you can send a video of what you were doing so we can see what's happening from your end.

I am also seeing this. 100% reproducible 3x in a row now. Installing on OpenVZ VPS with public IP using this procedure.

I tried creating a new admin user. Assigned it vicidial_admin group etc. It was created with a 9. Then I tried changing the password and it reset the userlevel to a 1 even though I set it to a 9. No way to make it assign 9 without changing it directly in the database.

Hi,

I've added fred flint's solution to our GIThub repository. You can try to update your server using git pull.

Cheers,
Chris
