Hi,
The default Goautodial CE 2.1 ssh login credential is user=root/pass=vicidialnow (if you installed the iso image without changing anything).
Have you check your keyboard if the caps-clock is on?
"What app is running and requiring login and how does one go about logging in?"
The basic application that is running on the default CENTOS/GOAUTODIAL that i can list are Iptables,ssh,asterisk,mysqld,httpd etc. Anyway you can make Goautodial/vicidial without logging-in in the terminal/ssh all is done via GUI, the only reason you have to logging-in to the terminal is if you have encounter problems that cannot be resolve using GUI (this required a basic knowledge in linux command line).
