Goautodial with openvpn

can anyone suggest, is it possible to have working goautodial with oepnvpn. is it going to downgrade the performance of goautodial or asterisk.
i am trying to implement openvpn on another standalone server and connect it to goautodial in way to pass all the connection of goautodial through openvpn to make it possible to have access to goautodial with openvpn Authenticated connections only and restrict the goautodial access for everyone else.
goautodial server A --> Opnevpn server B --> Goautodial ip accessible through openvpn
Both server is on same local network so there wont be any connection issue between them.
Direct access to goautodial ip locked for others on WAN.
My goautodial is on cloud and i have number of clients for this server, it is possible through iptables and fail2ban with whitelist rules, but this is possible only for static ip. some users dont have static ip so its really very difficult to define whitelist.
please suggest if its possible or not without any breakage to system performance.What are the impacts of this scenario on sip,asterisk,codec, and voip.
