Amfeltec PCIe system timer problem

Added by Al Sam almost 3 years ago

I have installed an Amfeltec system timer rev.1.1 in a GoAutoDial machine but, at bootup, system outputs "No hardware timing source found in /proc/dahdi, loading dahdi_dummy." What steps can I follow to diagnose the cause of the issue and resolve it?

Hi,

Please attach a screenshot of the actual error and please provide us the output of the following command.

rpm -qa | grep dahdi

Ryan

Hi Al Sam,

It looks like all built-in Dahdi drivers are working fine. But you wanted your Amfeltec products to work on your Goautodial System. You need to recompile your Dahdi drivers to work with your Amfeltec products. You may use the Amfeltec guide on this site http://amfeltec.com/products/downloads/systemtimer/README.dat or if you can find an RPM base installer for Dahdi with Amfeltec products support that would be better.

Regards,
Erwin

Thanks for the info. I am going through the procedure on the specified page but there is no /usr/src/dahdi-linux... on step 3.2. Here are the available directories:

[root@go ~]# cd /usr/src/
[root@go src]# ls
dahdi kernels
dahdi-2.6.1-1.go vicidial
debug vicidial-2.4.364a-120409.1136.1.go
goautodial voicesync-1.3.4
goautodial-ce-3.0-1369368000 voicesync-1.3.4.tgz
goautodial-ce-config

Using any of the directories here results in the following message:

[root@go voicesync-1.3.4]# make DAHDI_DIR=/usr/src/dahdi

------- Checking Dahdi/Zaptel Sources --------------

Error: Could not find DAHDI/ZAPTEL sources in DAHDI/Zaptel Dir: /usr/src/dahdi
Please check your setting: make DAHDI_DIR=/usr/src/dahdi-linux-<ver>

make: *** [check-dahdi] Error 1

Do you know where the necessary sources are located?

Thanks. What is this I'm downloading?

That's the Source RPM of the DAHDI package. You need the source files of DAHDI in order to recompile DAHDI to work with Amfeltec.

[root@go voicesync-1.3.4]# make DAHDI_DIR=/usr/src/dahdi

Error: Could not find DAHDI/ZAPTEL sources in DAHDI/Zaptel Dir: /usr/src/dahdi
Please check your setting: make DAHDI_DIR=/usr/src/dahdi-linux-<ver>

make: *** [check-dahdi] Error 1

OK. Here's a noob question. Once I download the package, what do I do with it?

RE: Amfeltec PCIe system timer problem - Added by Al Sam almost 3 years ago

I was able to extract dahdi-linux-sources-2.6.1.tar.gz from the downloaded package. I then extracted dahdi-linux-sources-2.6.1.tar.gz to /usr/src and ran the make command; the output is the same.

[root@go voicesync-1.3.4]# make DAHDI_DIR=/usr/src/dahdi-linux-2.6.1

------- Checking Dahdi/Zaptel Sources --------------

Error: Could not find DAHDI/ZAPTEL sources in DAHDI/Zaptel Dir: /usr/src/dahdi-linux-2.6.1
Please check your setting: make DAHDI_DIR=/usr/src/dahdi-linux-<ver>

make: *** [check-dahdi] Error 1

Gave up on goautodial. Switched to Vicibox which has voicesync support built-in. Thanks for the help.
