Error updating os

I am currently testing Goautodoal in virtualbox at my office. After installing, I try to update using yum update and get the following error:
YumRepo Error: All mirror URLs are not using ftp, http[s], file.
Eg. Invalid release/
remoing mirrirlist with no valid mirrors: /var/cache/yum/base/mirrirlist.txt
Error: Cannot find a value baseurl for repo: base
Also, when accessing the system in my web brower, I get an SSL error, which prevents me from doing certain things like submitting the signup form to buy credits from justgovoip.com
