GoAutoDial Initial Install - Keyboard Not Working

Added by Jack Juncaj over 8 years ago

Hello,

I am trying to install Go Auto Dial on a new HP Envy machine. The keyboard has worked fine with other OS's, but when I try to load either the GoAutoDial iso OR CentOS by itself, the keyboard and mouse stops working. I have tried every USB port - The keyboard stops working once the CD has booted the install.

The BIOS has limited options but I made sure to turn on all virtualization and use legacy boot for everything. I read this on a forum that suggested this may be the fix. Is there a command I would have to type in the 'kernel' in order to get this working? I'm new to Linux and just wanted to try out the software. Thanks,

hi if you able to install other os then try the goautodial scratch install

Install centos 5.X and then follow the below link for the goautodial scratch install

Thank you for the response. I have tried installing CentOS 5 to attempt the scratch install and I get the same result. As soon as CentOS install starts, the usb keyboard and mouse goes out - So it leads me to believe the issue is with CentOS.

Based on forums, I've tried different options at boot command line such as: Linux iommu=soft, Linux iommu=on, Linux intel_iommu=on, Linux intel_iommu=soft etc...

All appropriate BIOS options are enabled

OK - I could install CentOS 6.7 with no issues - However when I follow the scratch install, when I get to step:

run: yum -y install goautodial-ce goautodial-ce-config
I get a returned error of: Nothing to do.

I initially ran that wget http;//downloads2.goautodial.org/centos/5/goautodial.repo
with replacing the '5' with a '6'. It didn't return any errors. Is this the correct method for installing with 6 or should I have ran the '5' anyway?

  • I also re-ran the command with the '5' and it saved the file as goautodial.repo.1 but I receive the same 'Nothing to Do' error.

Thanks

not sure whether goautodial supports centos 6, or do they have yum repo for the same

if you want a autodialer instead of goautodial the i suggest you to use the vicidial
goautodial is a flavor of vicidial just the gui and some feature differs.
below is the link for the scratch install of vicidial in centos 6.x

There are conflicting forum posts that say that it is supported, but other users also having the same trouble getting it installed.
We have seen ViciDial and installed it just fine but we are not that happy with the user interface. I guess this is our last shot to go with GoAutoDial....Is there any solid answers whether this works on CentOS 6? CentOS 5 expires in 2017 and CentOS 6 has been out for years...I guess it would say a lot if it has been out this long and there has been no update for CentOS 6.

You install centos 6 or 7 and update all goautodial from net with YUM update

    (1-9/9)
    Go to top
